What A Year! PHEW!

November 20, 2016

This has been a whirlwind year. I am still rejoicing in the fact the Lord told me to STAY FOCUSED and undistracted from the election.  I can see now exactly why. Folks were so mean and hateful all over and I am shocked at some of the responses and comments of CHRISTIANS during this election. (I almost got involved myself, and one day about to respond to a post the Lord said – What are you doing?! At that point, I stopped and said…I forgot!
I can have compassion and show mercy and grace for each one, but I am still hurting for those that are hurting and those that were for the President don’t understand others pain thereby pouring salt in a wound. We should build bridges, not walls in our relationships. There are some folks call and come to my house to explain their position, or while I am out and about. All I can do is listen…and be cordial. I listen to both sides, those against Trump, those for Hillary, those for Trump and those against Hillary. My confidence is not is flesh, nor the elephant/donkey but the Lion---the Lion of Judah.
However, that does not mean that I feel anxiety when I see all these white men with a history of racism a part of the cabinet. I remember what segregation looked like back in the 50’s and 60’s and it wasn’t pretty then – I lived in and with it.  However, now with racism folks are meaner and hateful and they don’t just hate Blacks but other people of color as well. I must say while I am trusting God, I am waiting to exhale to see how things pan out – one day at a time. As for me, I am drawing nearer to God than I ever has because we are living is dangerous and troubling times…yet, I hear God saying…Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled…

Today I visited a church I had a dreamt about – got there and I was one of three Blacks I saw there. Those that greeted me at door looked like klansmen, yet they were kind. (I have NO problem talking to people that look at me like they hate me, matter of fact when I am on assignment I welcome their gaze). The message was from John 15:1-11.  My take away: A life of fruitful joy is dependent on a vital union with Christ. NO MATTER WHAT…REMAIN CONNECTED TO JESUS.  On our world, there is lots of chaos and disorder. People are hurting, angry and there is so much hatred. We say we’re connected, but people are lonelier than ever. Also, I received how things works best when plugged in. Stay plugged in, be fruitful. God does not want more from us, He wants more of us.
